How to download RockTrader PRO?

ANSWER

1. Demo Version:

In order to download RockTader PRO Demo version on your PC, you go on this link: http://www.demotradingplatform.com/
Fill out the form (Remind the password, it will be the same to log into the platform), clik on “Register”.

This site will generate you a User ID and the same password that previous and then click to download.


 

 

 

2. Live Version:

The live version is only available with a link send by Investors Europe after you have opened an account trough us.

Uninstall

QUESTION

How to uninstall RockTrader PRO?

ANSWER

In order to uninstall RockTrader PRO completely from your PC, please do the following:

  1. Go to START > Settings >> Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.
  2. Select RockTrader PRO and click remove
  3. Go to My Computer and then navigate to C:\Program Files and delete the folder called RockTrader PRO.

If you want to reinstall RockTrader PRO because of some Problems with the platform, you can just run the installation again (please refer to How to download RockTrader PRO).

Several Computers

QUESTION

What should I do if I want to run RockTrader PRO on several computers?

ANSWER

It is possible to run RockTrader PRO on different computers, but one user cannot be logged in simultaneously from two PCs.

If you are running RockTrader PRO on a simulation account, you can just install it on the other computers and use it (please refer to How to download RockTrader PRO above ) 

If you are running RockTrader PRO on a live account, please do the following:

1. Make a back up key from the computer where RockTrader PRO is running (please refer to How to make a back up Key)

2. Download RockTrader PRO to another PC (please refer to How to download RockTrader PRO above)

3. Log in  RockTrader PRO on the new PC and follow the instructions in the pop up window to load the back up key (Please refer to How to load a back up key).

Cannot Finish Installation

QUESTION

You might experience that the installation of RockTrader PRO ends prematurely (note error messages can differentiate depending on operating system):

ANSWER

There can be several reasons for this:

1. If you are using Windows Vista and the User Account Control is on. Please do the following in order to disable the User Account Control:

a.  Click Start > Control Panel > User Accounts.
b.  In the User Accounts window, click "Turn User Account Control on or off."
c. Windows Firewall will give you a warning message, you should click "Continue".
d. In the new window make sure there is no tick in Use User Account Control (UAC) to help Protect your computer.
e. Restart your computer and reinstall RockTrader PRO

QUESTION

I have problem installing RockTrader PRO from the .exe installation links.

ANSWER

If you have a problem installing RockTrader PRO by using the webdeploy.exe file, it is possible to install RockTrader PRO by using our .msi distribution package.

Before installing RockTrader PRO you should make sure that your PC has Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or higher installed (Windows Vista always has it installed by default). You can check if you have Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 installed by going to Add or Remove Programs under Control Panel.

If Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 is not there, it can be installed from the Microsoft Download Center

Once you are sure that Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 is installed you can download RockTrader PRO distribution package for Live or Simulation (See above: How to download RockTrader PRO) Save this file on your Windows desktop and run the installation from there.

Updates

QUESTION

When downloading updates, I get message: Failed to delete file xxx.xxx_old

ANSWER

In order to solve the Problem, please do the following:

  1. Close RockTrader PRO.
  2. Go to the installation folder of RockTrader PRO. The installation folder is typically at C:\Program Files\InvestorsEurope\RockTrader
  3. Find the file mentioned in the error message and delete it.
  4. Log in RockTrader PRO and click Yes to run the update.
  5. The error message may have an additional information section containing "Access to the path xxx.xxx_old is denied". If so, restart your computer and go to step 2 right away. If you are using Windows Vista, please Disable the User Account Control (see above) temporarily.
